Last updated

These terms describe how we work together. They are intentionally short. The quote we send you is the agreement that governs a specific project, and if it says something different from this page, the quote wins.

The free mock-up

The first design we send you is free and carries no obligation. It stays our work until a project is agreed and paid for, which means it is for your review rather than for publishing. If you decide not to continue, nothing is owed in either direction.

Scope and quotes

Before work starts we send a written quote listing what is included, what it costs and roughly how long it will take. That price is fixed for that scope. If you later want something outside it, we quote the addition separately and you approve it before we build it.

Revisions

Each project includes a round of revisions at the design stage and a round after the build. Changes of direction after the design is approved are treated as new work, because they usually mean rebuilding rather than adjusting.

What we need from you

We need your text, images and logo, and confirmation that you have the right to use them. Timelines assume that material arrives when agreed; if it arrives late the delivery date moves by roughly the same amount, and we will tell you when that happens rather than let the date pass quietly.

Payment

Projects are invoiced in two parts: a deposit to begin and the balance before the site goes live on your domain. Care plans are billed monthly in advance and can be cancelled at any time, which stops the next payment rather than refunding the current month. Video tours are paid in full upfront, before delivery.

Ownership

When the final payment clears, the design, the code and the content of your site are yours. You can move it to any host you like, and you are not required to stay on a care plan to keep it running. We keep the right to show the work in our portfolio, and we will leave it out if you ask us to.

What we can and cannot promise

We will build what the quote describes, test it on real devices and fix faults in our own work. We cannot promise search rankings, visitor numbers or sales, because those depend on your market and your competitors as much as on the site. Anyone who guarantees you a position on a results page is guessing.

Hosting and third parties

Sites we build run on third-party infrastructure such as hosting providers and domain registrars. We choose carefully and keep things patched, but we are not responsible for an outage inside a provider’s own platform. If one happens we will tell you what it is and what is being done about it.
